What is Gourmet
Oct 2nd, 2009 by Emma
So the dictionary tells me gourmet equals involving or purporting to involve high-quality or exotic ingredients or skilled preparation. I always thought Gourmet equals French! However, turns out there’s a little more to it than feasting on frogs or speaking with a Parisian accent. Gourmet can be anything from fine dining to mac (yes, that is macaroni) and cheese. If you don’t believe me, just ask Jack Campbell.
Now, I believe – and I’m sure my boyfriend agrees also (he’s not allowed to disagree) – that a I make AWESOME mashed potatoes, and I add a little more than just your regular salt, pepper and butter, so does that make it gourmet?? If so, could I really become a gourmet mashed potatoes chef extraordinaire? I think so – in fact, I may just follow my own ramblings. So kids, watch out for a gourmet mash place heading to a town near you! Soon!

Well, Gourmet cooking for me is tested in my mouth… Not how it looks on the plate, or how the chef looks…
Make me taste something different – and that’s the trick.
