Happy Cinco de Mayo!

On May 5, 1862, Generalissimo Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín defeated the French task force that had been sent to conquer Mexico and in his honor we celebrate every 5th of May, or Cinco de Mayo if you prefer, and commemorate the bravery of the Mexican defenders. Outnumbered, ill equipped and facing an army that had known no defeat for almost 50 years, and yet they won.
Well, sort of.
The French did conquer Mexico less than a year later, but history is not written by the victors, but by those who invent cool holidays that involve drinking tequila and wearing sombreros.
You can learn more about the traditions of Cinco de Mayo -
Or you can choose to relax with some Mojitos and celebrate with the great nation the brought us the beverage of the gods – tequila.
Either way – Happy Cinco de Mayo!
