In Search of St. Paddy and a Four-Leaf Clover

Paddy’s Day is one of my favorite holidays ever. Though me and my friend Jonathan’s trip to the Emerald Isle took place more than four years ago, I still remember the beautiful green hills of Wicklow county, long drinking nights in the “People’s Republic of Cork” (or “the rebel county” as they like to call themselves) and the cliffs of Moher near the village Doolin where we sang Irish folk songs ‘till the neighbors got out and asked us politely to go to bed.
We even brought a souvenir with us – her name is Nessa and she’s one of the finest lasses you have ever laid eyes on. And when John will find the guts to finally propose it will be a happy day for all us, as it will give us a very good excuse to travel again to Ireland for the wedding (hint hint, Johnny boy…).
Saint Patrick’s Day, of course, is more than just about drinking and wearing green, it’s about tradition and history, marauders kidnapping people, and saints building schools and killing snakes with their bare hands… I think. And to keep the spirits high, why not complete it with some Nutty Irishman cocktails?
