Bad Education
Sep 30th, 2008 by Roxana
Coming from a high school where sexual education was banned, my only knowledge of sex was based on Cosmopolitan. The result of this bad education? 20% of my high school classmates got pregnant before they turned 19, and I remained ignorant, wondering if this whole progesterone/estrogen cycle wasn’t just another what-came-first-the-chicken-or-the-egg life issue.
Well, it seems that I wasn’t that lost after all, as the production of those hormones is related to eggs, only that the result of it is babies and not chickens. And the mystery of this equation: the pill.
The pill is no longer an enigma for me, and it’s even more clear when I watch Sex Health Guru’s video on how the pill really works. It’s simple, it’s true, and it’s under control. No more urban myths, like “use the birth control pills on your hair and it will grow faster”. No more cover stories, no more opinions. Just the education my classmates and I missed.
