Position Description:
You will work in the Business Development department, reporting directly to the Director of Content Acquisition and VP of Business Development. As a member of this team, you will primarily be tasked with assisting the development and creation of the 5min Partner network. You will support this overarching initiative by performing critical Business Development research and marketing functions by identifying and prioritizing a pipeline of Partners to ultimately establish long-term relationships with media companies of various shapes and sizes. 5Min’s current Partners include major media companies and NYC/CA based internet media startups.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the identification, prioritization, development and growth of a Partner pipeline through due diligence and research.
- Help manage the progress of business development activities and related pipeline.
- Supporting the development, implementation, and management of Direct Marketing Campaigns and Lead Generation initiatives.
- Provide recommendation for on-going marketing and sales initiatives based upon insights drawn from analysis.
- Perform Competitive Research and synthesizing in-depth analysis
- Manage and track content library growth and other key performance metrics. Generate reporting based upon findings.
- Manage and track implementation of distribution deals. Generate reporting based upon findings.
- Support ad-hoc requests from different business units – including editorial, site design, product development, and marketing.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of the Internet media space, related business models, and online/offline publishers and content providers.
- Ambitious, aggressive, hard working, self-starter, who is well organized and able to assume responsibility for specific project deliverables with limited supervision.
- Deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment that requires ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively independently as well as in a team environment.
- Must enjoy and thrive in a start-up environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
- BA or BS degree from a top-tier, four-year accredited University.
- Expected Graduation: Freshmen ‘12; Sophomore ‘11, Junior ‘10
- Preferred Major(s): Finance, Marketing, Business Management, Communications/Media, Economics.
- Minimum GPA: 3.0

Term: Present – Nov/Dec.
Hours: 25 – 40 hrs / week
Expected Graduation: Freshmen ’12; Sophomore ’11, Junior ’10
