5min goes Bilbao 2.0
May 24th, 2007 by Ran
We are writing this post from Bilbao, Spain. We are at the main conference hall at the new Guggenheim Museum (it is so beautiful!) and we are really exhausted. The reason we are here is that 5min was selected as one of the Top 5 startup companies in Europe for 2007! We are proud to be here and are really happy from the reactions we get.

Today we presented our site in front of a very respectable jury, and we are waiting for their final call – who will be the most promising startup? If to be honest, we don’t think that ranking websites in competitions is that important. What important is you - our users, your videos, the knowledge we collect here together, the value we give you in 5min. But still, since we are already here (the flight was real long), we are trying to make the best out of it.
In our next posts we will keep you posted regarding the final results of the web2.0 competition. For us, being here is a privilege; promoting 5min is a great opportunity; making some noise is always fun; and seeing Bilbao is nice as well.
But Hey, we must say we are thrilled from another thing – we have RSS feeds! From now on you can register to each Studio, category or sub-category, and ever RSS search results. This is what makes us happy, being able to improve our platform and have more features for all of us to enjoy.
Contests are nice, but having more and more people in our community is our biggest price.
Enjoy!

Hi guys,
I read about the contest results in the StartUp2.0 site, bet i would like to hear from you some more about the presentations that were displayed, and how do you feel as an Israeli startup to have the spanish company taking the first place. Does it really matter who took the first place, or is participating creates enough buzz for us?
We love you all,
Benny.
